Refund Policy

We want every modblo product to work exactly as expected. When it doesn’t, we make it right. This page explains how that works for digital, downloadable storefront code.

We stand behind every section we ship.

If you encounter a legitimate issue with a modblo section, block, or pack — broken functionality, compatibility problem, defective code — email billing@modblo.com and we’ll help you resolve it, including a refund where appropriate.

How refunds work for digital assets

modblo sells digital, downloadable storefront assets — Liquid sections, code blocks, and curated packs. Once you buy, the full source is available to copy, install, and run on your Shopify theme immediately.

Because of that, we evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis rather than running a blanket return window. The goal is to be fair to people who hit a real issue without creating a system that’s easy to misuse. In practice, that means we lean toward saying yes when there’s a clear product issue, and we’ll always explain our reasoning when we don’t.

When refunds may be granted

  • Broken functionality you can reproduce — a section that errors, fails to render, or behaves contrary to its documented behavior.
  • Major theme or platform compatibility issues that prevent normal install on a supported Online Store 2.0 theme.
  • A defective product — corrupt files, incomplete code, or anything that ships not working as described.
  • Duplicate purchases of the same section, block, or pack.
  • Accidental purchases reported promptly, before the asset has been downloaded or installed.
  • Products materially different from how they're presented on their detail page.

When refunds typically aren’t granted

  • Change of mind after the asset has been downloaded or installed.
  • Custom modifications you made that don't behave as you expected.
  • Issues caused by an unsupported theme or by Shopify settings outside the section's documented scope.
  • Skill or knowledge gaps with Liquid, Shopify, or front-end code. Our docs and support team are here to help — refunds aren't the right tool for this.
  • Sections or blocks that have been actively used in production stores.

These aren’t hard nos — every situation is different and we’ll always look at the context. But because the code ships immediately and is yours to keep, we can’t treat digital assets the way a physical-goods store treats a return.

Memberships

Creator and Agency memberships unlock the full premium library while active. You can cancel anytime from your account page — cancellation stops future billing immediately and access continues through the end of your current billing period.

Membership fees are generally non-refundable once you’ve accessed or downloaded premium assets during the billing period. If you signed up by mistake and haven’t downloaded anything, email billing@modblo.com within a few days and we’ll sort it out.

Sections and blocks you installed during your membership remain in your theme and continue working after cancellation. You just lose access to new releases and ongoing updates.

One-time purchases

One-time purchases of individual sections, blocks, or packs are evaluated against the criteria above. We typically respond to refund requests within one business day. If we approve a refund, it’s processed back to your original payment method via Stripe (typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank).

How to request a refund

Email billing@modblo.com with:

  • The order number or email used at checkout.
  • The section, block, or pack you’re asking about.
  • A short description of the issue. Screenshots, error messages, or a link to the affected page help us resolve faster.

We’ll respond within one business day. If the issue looks fixable (theme conflict, install gap, undocumented edge case), we’ll often help you fix it instead of refunding — most issues turn out to be 5-minute conversations.

Chargebacks

Please reach out to us before disputing a charge with your bank. Chargebacks cost both sides time and money, and we can almost always resolve a real issue faster directly. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first may result in account suspension.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as we learn what works best for the community. Material changes will be announced by email to active members and posted here with an updated date. Your purchases are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
